I downloaded the Quake 2 demos
(still have to find some maps to play some)
and bought Quake 2 to play them.

I was wondering is there a programme to convert the .dm2 demos to a you tube format?

I tried GameCam and that didnt seen to work, Speisovision (or however it spelt) didnt work that only played the demos.

thanks

Shirl

FRAPS is the one to use at first then you use a few others, I did try to do it myself but didnt have much luck.

If you have any luck up the avi file to the PR space see sticky on priv forum and I will add them to PR's own YouTube channel.

This is how to do it but I gave up after a few attempts:

Its for Quake Live but the process is the same.

Any maps you cant find I have most of them.

It is possible!!! classic 1v1 below with some nice texture mods or pak files in use:

thanks, ill give it a go in the next few days.

maps so far haven't got are
q2ctf2
and
trdm06

but i haven't tried all of them yet maybe more.
So i havent looked on the web for them yet.

if i manage to convert demos to another format ill let you know.

I do have webcams i could install on pc and record from them i expect for last resort but that way probably wouldnt look good.

I found a programme that works but its maybe my computer as even thou i got the speed right and when it records it plays fast, when i play it back its pause'y and misses frames, i think maybe its my slow computer that cant keep up as its only a Socket A computer lol

Ill keep trying ways but its a shame as this programme does record easy, but i think maybe none will work if its my computer.

Sort of with Cam Studio.
But need a faster computer than my Socket A one lol
dont think the computer could keep up with the speed of the recording.
With my computer it missed alot of frames.

maybe someone with a faster computer can try with Cam Studio REcorder.

Ill keep trying different things thou.

Im still working on it another way.

I found an old TV card and put in my other old computer here, attached a Video Recorder and it records whats on the videotapes on the computer as avi or mpeg and a few others can select.

So, my computer has an S-video connection spare and the TV card has one so I will get a cable and see if it records from that, or else i may get a camera and record on tape, as i know the tv card records from the video player.

I am not giving up.

FTP'd first one to you Horizon to put on you tube.

Let me know what you think and if ok ill do others.

I can probably tidy things up on the others like trimming off the right border that shows and taking out beginning and end bits off. Could make gameplay on others lighter to if u think i had it too dark.
