Valve is the latest developer to express interest in making games for the Wii U.

President Gabe Newell has told Joystiq that the new machine is a better fit for the traditionally Nintendo-shy studio than the platform holder's recent consoles.

"Wii U seems to be a lot more powerful than the previous generation," he explained. "It sort of fits better into the scalability in terms of graphics performance and CPU performance, so I think it'll be a lot easier for us to fit it into our scalability model."

"We've always loved Nintendo," he added, before suggesting the Wii U could represent the next stage in the transition from its PC-only origins to full multi-platform development.
